This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

If you’ve been following me through my journey to a healthier Adriana, then thank you for the support. I’ve dealt with significant weight gain over the past year and I’ve kept quiet about it because I was ashamed and insecure about my weight and how I looked. Now, I’m proud of where I been and how far I’ve come. It isn’t easy trying to lose weight when health and dieting websites constantly make you feel like you’re crazy for loving food, and at the same time shames you for it.

Through my first week, I made my goals known and public. How else was I going to be held accountable for my journey? Then through the second week, I gain more confidence from the program itself. By Joel busting myths, I was able to set aside all of my harmful habits and train myself to love the process of losing weight. And, last week (the third week), I made minor changes that have improved my health and outlook on life.

I can admit that I’ve struggled with food all of my life, but Joel’s book and the program helped reframe my mindset and view on what a diet should look like. If you don’t remember, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of the 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good

That last phase, “The Lifestyle Phase,” is super important. Like Joel says in his book: “Very few diets have a maintenance component, but Always Eat After 7PM does. Everyone knows how to lose weight (at least in theory), but what we’re never told or filled in on how to maintain weight loss.”

THIS!

My goal moving forward is to maintain my weight loss. This is where I failed before. I originally lost 80 pounds between 2012-2016, and I didn’t know how to maintain it. The majority of that time I spent trying to lose more and more weight. Obsessing over every little pound, not realizing how my obsession was sabotaging my weight loss.

For any of you who are doing this to yourself. Stop! It’s not healthy and it won’t be sustainable. Truth be told, I’ve learned more over the last four weeks with Always Eat After 7PM, than I have over the last 6 years.
