I’m fucking tired.⁣

It’s been a difficult last couple of weeks. Truly, it’s been a difficult year. And, I’m not talking about the coronavirus or the uncertainty of the future.⁣
⁣
I’m just exhausted from all of the racial violence the Black community has had to endure. And, I’m triggered. ⁣
⁣
I’m sitting in bed at this moment with a heavy feeling in my chest, staring at my screen, and wishing this was all a Dream. Names keep popping up, but not for a good reason. #GeorgeFloyd #ArmaudArbery #RanaZoeMungin #BreonnaTaylor ⁣

And, I just can’t…bbbelieve that we’re here…again.⁣
⁣
I’m not going to beg or plead you to fight for or understand Black people or their humanity. But, I ask: “What are you without racism? Are you strong?”⁣

My mom really couldn’t have children. She was told that she would never have any children after having surgery at 2 years old. Yet, my mom gave birth to my older brother (whom I never met) at 14 years old. She later had my two older brothers, me, and my two younger brothers and sister. How do you like that doctor? Seven kids later.⁣

I wouldn’t be here if…⁣

My mother, at the age of 22, took her life. If my mom had been successful, you wouldn’t know me. Wouldn’t have been able to follow my adventures or journey, and for some of you wouldn’t have ever met me. One decision could be the deciding factor between life and death, happiness and sadness, love and hatred…and the list goes on.⁣
⁣
While I had no control over the past, I’m grateful to have life.⁣
⁣
My realization: I shouldn’t be here…BUT I am. I am for a million reasons!⁣
⁣
We have lots to be grateful for. We just have to find our purpose.⁣
⁣
To anyone who is feeling sad, pain, anger, depressed and more, I see you. If you’re feeling suicidal, please seek help at 1800-273-TALK (8255). If you’re outside the U.S., look for your country’s hotline at suicide.org.⁣
⁣
To loved ones, speak up and provide that extra support for those feeling that sadness, pain, anger and depression. Just because they haven’t asked you for help, doesn’t mean they don’t need you.⁣

I’m not saying to keep your mouth closed and repress this negativity. But, your outlook and journey is dependent upon your mindset. Your mindset determines your future. ⁣

If you had to choose between journeying down the path of negativity or positivity in your life, which would you choose? Speaking these words into existence or the universes will allow it to manifest and fester in your life. ⁣
